Bogotá has many hotels of varying quality and cost.
Areas to stay
Of course people can stay wherever they like! But we thought that the area of Usaquén might be a good suggestion. It is in northern Bogotá (closer to the wedding location), is still central for tourism, has some very nice and historical areas, and also lots of restaurants (and a mall) nearby.
The central area of the city, near the parliament buildings, the Presidential palace, and other places, is La Candelaria. This area has smaller hostels as well as more expensive chain hotels. We think everyone should visit La Candelaria while they are in Bogotá! If you choose to say here, the closer you are to Plaza de Bolivar the better. However, due to traffic, you should reserve 45 minutes to an hour on the 25th to travel to the pick up hotel for transportation to the wedding (which will be one of the NH Hotels in northern Bogotá, likely NH Teleport).
NH Hotels ![]()
To try and help, we have a “deal” with NH Hotels who have very good and well located hotels in the city.
You can visit www.nh-hotels.com and search for Bogotá to see their range of hotels. Prices vary between USD $85 to around USD $200.
We recommend that you look at NH Collection Teleport Royal or NH Collection WTC Royal. Both are a short distance from each other. Alternatively, you could look at NH Collection Andino Royal or NH Hotel Urban 93 (a little closer to the city centre).
We will be arranging transportation to and from the wedding on the 25th for guests at the hotels – we will confirm exactly which hotel as soon as possible, but it will almost certainly be stopping at NH Collection Teleport Royal (or one of the NH hotels in north Bogotá).
When you are ready to make a booking, contact Mary Sol at mdaza@hotelesroyal.com. She is in charge of guest booking for our wedding. You must state that the booking is for “Liza Ordoñez and Steve Cooke’s wedding“.
We also have an arrangement with Hotel Morrison Bogotá: www.hotelesmorrison.com. The contact person is Angie Sánchez angie.sanchez@hotelesmorrison.com. They have similar prices to NH hotels and is also centrally located.
Mid range hotels
Other hotels in the Usaquén area that you might find good deals at are:
- Hampton by Hilton, Usaquén – around $75USD per night
- Tryp Hotel, Usaquén – around $65-$70 per night
Other options
If NH Hotels or the others don’t match your needs, there are many other hotels in Bogotá.
There are several large chain hotels, such as Four Seasons, Marriot and Sheraton. There are also some boutique hotels, such as BOGotel, Hotel Click Clack, and EK Hotel (these are also more expensive).
On the cheaper side, there are several hostels and guest houses in the city centre (La Candelaria area). These are centrally located and there are lots of historical sites nearby; however, it will be further to travel for the wedding. If you decide to stay here, you should reserve an hour travel time on the 25th to get to the pick up hotel for transportation to the wedding (which will be one of the NH Hotels in northern Bogotá).
